This neon sign shows a piece of American gasoline history. Among the 280 new oil wells at Speindleton in 1902, Buffalo Oil Company completed a producing well at a depth of 960 feet on a lease of only 1/32 of an acre. Spindletop field produced 43 million barrels but was dry by May for 1902. March of that same year fire struck the oil field and took over the oilfield.
