High-gloss epoxy can look sharp, but when the surface gets wet it may become slippery in pedestrian traffic areas. This non skid aggregate gives you a straightforward way to add slip resistance during your coating project while helping preserve the gloss. It works alongside your color chip application, so you can build texture into the coating instead of trying to address a slick surface later.

Use it with a steady hand and a light touch. The goal is controlled traction, not dumping grit into one spot, so follow the recommended coverage and avoid applying it in too high a concentration. Whether you want a standard texture with chips or a more aggressive clearcoat application, the process fits into a careful coating job.

Specifications

  • Product type: Non-skid additive for high-gloss epoxy coating applications
  • Recommended application rate: 1 can (1.5 lbs.) of non-skid per 500 square feet
  • Use area: For additional slip resistance in areas of pedestrian traffic
  • Finish effect: Creates bumps in the coating but doesn't sacrifice the gloss
  • Application caution: Do not apply non-skid in too high a concentration

Application details

For the standard approach, use the easy sprinkle can while applying your color chips. Sprinkle grit onto the basecoat, then once dry, apply clearcoat over the chips/grit to create bumps in the texture.

For a more aggressive non-skid application, sprinkle the non-skid in the clearcoat by rolling out area, sprinkling the desired coverage, then back-rolling over area to seal the non-skid into clearcoat. That adds more texture where you want it while still keeping the gloss of the coated surface.

If your epoxy coating project needs added slip resistance, this non skid additive is an easy upgrade to include in the job. Keep the application controlled, follow the coverage rate, and finish with clearcoat for a gloss-friendly textured surface.
